Howard C. Emmerman

Howard C. Emmerman has been a corporate litigation, trial lawyer and outside general counsel for more than 30 years. He represents and counsels clients on issues relating to business relationship controversies, including executive compensation, non-competition and non-solicitation agreements, ERISA, discrimination and disabilities. Mr. Emmerman also handles matters involving intellectual property and information technology such as communications, systems integration, hardware and software manufacture and development. In addition, Mr. Emmerman assists clients with business organization structuring as well as construction, manufacturing, real estate and general commercial disputes.

Mr. Emmerman is a member of the panel of arbitrators of the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois mandatory arbitration program, and appointed by that Court as Trustee of the Illinois Roll-Back Tax Fund. In addition, he holds a Certificate of Professional Achievement in mediation issued by the DePaul University Dispute Resolution Center. Mr Emmerman is recognized by the Leader Lawyers Network as being among the top lawyers in Illinois in commercial litigation and he has received an AV rating under the Martindale-Hubbell ® Lawyer Rating System, indicating that he "has reached the height of professional excellence" and "is recognized for the highest levels of skill and integrity." In addition, Mr. Emmerman was named as a 2005 Illinois Super Lawyer in the area of business litigation in the May 2005 issue of Chicago Magazine. Illinois Super Lawyers were selected by their peers and are "considered among the best in their profession" and "represent the top 5% of the practicing attorneys in Illinois."
