About Nancy Herrera
Ms. Herrera earned her Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School and her Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a minor in Business Administration from Loyola University Chicago.
Ms. Herrera was inspired to pursue a legal career when she worked as a paralegal at a prominent Chicago family law firm. That is where her passion for family law emerged.
While in law school, Ms. Herrera interned in the Felony Trial Division of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office and the Cook County Public Defender’s Office as a 711. As a 711 with the Cook County Public Defender’s Office, Ms. Herrera was entrusted with the legal representation of individuals from underserved communities. In 2016, Ms. Herrera attained her first not guilty verdict for charges stemming from an alleged armed robbery.
During law school, Ms. Herrera was also a member of the Trial Advocacy team.
Ms. Herrera is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Hispanic Lawyers Association of Illinois.
Ms. Herrera is fluent in Spanish.
