About Robert J. Friend

Robert J. Friend focuses his practice representing individuals on a wide range of divorce related issues such as prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, complex financial divorces, contested custody disputes, and various post-dissolution matters.

Mr. Friend strives to create an attorney-client relationship focused on communication, trust, and achieving common goals.

Mr. Friend joined Beermann as a law clerk in the firm’s family law and business law departments. He has practiced at Beermann since graduating from law school and his admission to the Illinois Bar.

During law school, Mr. Friend became a Family Law Fellow at DePaul University College of Law. Through various positions, he gained a unique perspective of the diverse corners of family law.

Mr. Friend worked as an extern judicial clerk for the Honorable Grace G. Dickler, Presiding Judge of the Domestic Relations Division in Cook County, where he drafted numerous judicial decisions in areas of law including divorce and custody matters and business and contract disputes. In addition, Mr. Friend interned at the Cook County Office of the Public Guardian in the Juvenile Division, working on abuse, neglect, and dependency cases..
