About Karen V. Paige

Karen V. Paige has over 20 years of experience in litigation and mediation, practicing in Lake and Cook Counties, as well as over a decade in Los Angeles during the first part of her career.  In addition to significant experience handling a wide range of financial and parenting matters, Ms. Paige has years of experience as a guardian ad litem in Lake County.

 

Recently named to the Best Lawyers in America, Ms. Paige brings her collective experience to each case, tailoring that experience to the best process option, and optimal outcome, for each client.

Ms. Paige’s practice is founded upon her ability to devise creative solutions and amicably settle even the most contentious of cases. Ms. Paige understands that no two families are the same, assessing with each client at the initial meeting how best to move the case forward, carefully considering the client’s goals. Each case is assessed at the beginning stages, and continuously assessed, to determine which path is the right fit for the client, and the family as a whole. Ms. Paige works tirelessly to devise creative solutions regarding children and parenting issues, as well as financial issues. The best outcome involves just one court appearance, but where litigation is best path, however, Ms. Paige is skilled in the courtroom, drawing on trial experience in California and Illinois, including litigation on a variety of issues including complex entertainment and tax issues, custody and parenting time, relocation issues, professional practice valuations, as well as spousal support/maintenance and child support.

Ms. Paige is experienced in all aspects of family law cases and counsels clients on the various aspects of dissolution of marriage and paternity proceedings, including allocation of parental responsibilities, and support. She also provides counsel regarding parenting time, property division, financial issues related to divorce, post-dissolution matters, prenuptial agreements and civil litigation related to orders of protection.

Ms. Paige concentrates her practice in Lake and Cook Counties. Ms. Paige is a Court-Appointed guardian ad litem and child representative, and parenting coordinator, in Lake County, Illinois, since 2012.

Ms. Paige was named to the US News and World Report Best Lawyers list for 2020. Ms. Paige is formerly a member of the Executive Committee of the Family Law Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association, 1998 – 2003, including handling CLE programs for newly-admitted attorneys through the Los Angeles County Superior Court, and service for several years on legislative sub-committee that provided revisions to proposed new legislation.  Ms. Paige represented clients with cases involving multiple fields, including the entertainment industry, the legal field, medical and dental professionals, automobile dealers, and private equity.

She serves on the Board of Directors of Youth Services of Glenview/Northbrook (YSGN), an organization that provides mental-health services both individually to clients as well as group services, to children and adolescents in the northern suburbs of Chicago. YSGN provides a wide range of necessary services including LGBTQ programs and support, individual therapy, and youth mentoring and educational support programs.
